Elk Grove Park District Pavilion Dance Centre Award Winning Dancers

During one of the most challenging years, the Pavilion Dance Centre's Ignite company dancers, dedicated to their 8 plus hours of training a week, ebbed and flowed out of in-person to virtual classes, learning over eight pieces as part of their performance and competition season, two of which were taught and learned completely virtual.

Following state mandated closures, as the Elk Grove Park District's programs began to open back up, our dancers were given the opportunity to compete regionally in person at Groove's Dance Competition. Their regional placement awarded them an opportunity to compete Nationally again! During the week of July 6-9, Ignite company dancers traveled to Milwaukee, Wisconsin to compete at the Miller High Life Theater.

Ignite's group piece "Miss Murder" won Elite Diamond placing 3rd overall and 2nd in Jazz. "Dark Paradise" won Elite Diamond placing 4th overall and 1st in Contemporary. "On the Radio" won Diamond placing 9th overall and 2nd in Contemporary and "Set Free" won Diamond placing 10th overall and 1st in Lyrical. Teen soloist, Izabella Murray-Pollu, performed "Blue" winning Diamond and placing 2nd overall and 1st in Contemporary. Junior soloist Isabelle Ferengul performed "Impossible" winning Diamond placing 2nd overall and 2nd in Lyrical. Junior soloist Jadyn Salapatas performed "Cringe" winning Diamond placing 3rd overall and 1st in Contemporary and Teen Duet, Emily Dompke and Kendal Zanni performed "Dark Horse" winning Diamond, placing 1st overall and 1st in Jazz.
