What traditional events were adapted for the pandemic and how?
Octoberfest, online performance. Most traditional events were held in person with fewer people and streamed online.
What were the most significant challenges faced by the Class of 2021 and how did they overcome them?
The uncertainty of extracurricular activities that were out of our control. They overcame that with patience and prayer.
Principal's reflections on the Class of 2021:
The class of 2021 has gone through a great deal of adversity over the past year and a half. They thought that they were going back to school at the end of their junior year and then didn't. Over the summer, there was some fear over when or even if they would return to school. Once they returned to school, there was the unknown of what activities would be available for them to participate in.
Despite all of those questions, our students rolled with the punches and the continuous uncertainty. I believe that each school year is defined by the senior class and this senior class has shown creativity, flexibility, and understanding when plans change. Their positivity has made this uncertain year feel pretty normal. I am so proud of this senior class for enduring the craziest school year in the history of our school. Despite all of the craziness, they were still able to participate in activities that they loved, they were able to root on their classmates as they participated in those activities, and they got to see each other every day (if they weren't quarantined). Congratulations class of 2021! You made it!
