Learn how to attract monarchs with Bloomingdale Garden Club June 15

On Tuesday, June 15, the Bloomingdale Garden Club Program will present "Attracting and Raising Monarch Butterflies."

Every garden club should have someone raising monarchs. Bob Erlich will show you how. His PowerPoint presentation will educate and inspire you as he details the lifecycle of the monarch and shows how easy it is to turn your garden into a sanctuary. He will bring free milkweed seeds and plants depending on their availability.

Erlich has lectured since 2009 at Chicago area garden clubs. He is a volunteer at Oak Lawn Park District Monarch Festival and designs Monarch Way Stations. As a member of Monarch Watch, he gives advice and hands-on training on how to release Monarchs. He has personally released more than 10,000 monarchs and 4,000 black swallowtail butterflies.

Visitors are welcome.

The social time and announcements begin at 6:15 p.m. Programs start at 7 p.m. at Cornerstone Faith Community Church, 118 First St. in Bloomingdale.
