Hanover Township, Streamwood Park District team up for summer fun

The Hanover Township Department of Youth and Family Services is partnering with the Streamwood Park District to provide teens with fun, summer activities.

Incoming high school freshmen through graduating seniors are invited to sign up for a co-ed summer soccer league. The program will run for six weeks from June 21 to Aug. 2, with a guaranteed six games for each participant. Games will be held every Monday night from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hoosier Grove West Field, 700 W. Irving Park Road, in Streamwood. Registration is required.

"We recognize there is a need for safe and healthy evening teen activities that just are not around anymore," said Ryan Dickinson, Hanover Township Prevention Services manager. "These programs are for teens across all communities of the Township to get outside, be active and meet other youth."

Teen Nights will be held every Friday night, beginning June 11 and running until July 30. This series of programs features a different theme every week, including a pajama movie night, kickball tournament and a School of Rock concert. Events will be primarily held from 6 to 9 p.m. at Park Place, at 550 S. Park Blvd., in Streamwood. Register for one event- or all of them- at https://bit.ly/3fO9Tz0.
