Chicago area's most diverse Northfield Township officials sworn in

The evening begins an extraordinary moment in Northfield Township. Six new Northfield Township members were sworn on Monday, May 17, 2021.The most diverse group to ever represent the Northfield Township.

Limitations on the size of public gatherings due to COVID-19, A Supervisor, A Clerk and Four of the trustees and were sworn in Redfield Estate at The Grove, National Historic Landmark.

Shiva Mohsenzadeh was sworn as township supervisor; Caryn Fliegler Northfield Township clerk; Scott Ottenheimer, Vincent Pace, Daniel Schack and Kate Spear sworn as trustees.

All six of them were sworn in by Honorable Patricia M. Fallon during a small ceremony in front of a limited group of families and Township Glenview, Northbrook and Northfield officials and personnel including Northfield Township Democratic Committeeperson Tracy Katz Muhl, Mayor of Evanston Daniel Biss and many others.

Due to the COVID-19 gathering limits, the event was live streamed on Facebook and other social media.

Newly Sworn Township Supervisor Mohsenzadeh was the former chief of staff of State Senator Laura Fine. She was an Immigrant from Iran with her parents when she was 15 years old. She completed her undergraduate degree from the University of Texas and a law degree from the University of Houston Law Center. She received high academic honors while participating in several programs. Mohsenzadeh has been a Northfield trustee till sworn as a township supervisor.

During an Interview Mohsenzadeh said, "I will make Northfield township a stronger place to live and work. I am grateful to my friends and my supporters who gave me congratulatory messages and best wishes for me. I thank all those who congratulated me on social media and over phone."

Newly Sworn Township Clerk Caryn Fliegler. She is an active member of the Illinois chapter of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America and board member of a Makom Solel Lakeside synagogue in Highland Park, Illinois.

Scott Ottenheimer, Vincent Pace, Daniel Schack and Kate Spears sworn in as a trustee. They have played a key role in township social activities and community service for many years.
