Westmont Unit District 201 to form Elementary Future Planning Task Force

On April 30, Westmont Community Unit District 201 announced that it will form a task force to develop a long-term plan for Miller and Manning elementary schools.

The Elementary Future Planning Task Force will be a collaborative group made up of various District 201 stakeholders and will be focused on the question, "How do we structure our elementary schools to meet our students' academic and social-emotional needs?"

Superintendent Kevin Carey stated, "The goals of the task force are to flesh out viable options for building configurations in the K-5 grade levels, develop ways to share information, gather community feedback on the viable options and to provide final recommendations to the CUSD 201 Board of Education in November 2021."

The task force will meet on Wednesdays, June 9 and 23, July 7, and Aug. 4. All meetings will take place via Zoom from 6 to 8 p.m.

Community members are asked to indicate their interest in joining the task force by completing an online survey located at forms.gle/wu5J9cGxpzTLxWBEA.

Westmont Community Unit District 201 is a kindergarten-12th-grade school district in Westmont, serving Westmont, Clarendon Hills, and Downers Grove families.
