Hersey hosts virtual Chicagoland Showcase

In show business, the motto is: The show must go on.

John Hersey High School has embraced that philosophy by forging ahead with the 28th Annual Chicagoland Showcase on Saturday, April 10.

While the pandemic won't allow participating high school show choirs to perform in person, Chicagoland Showcase will continue as an all-day virtual event.

That's why the theme of this year's Showcase is, "Makin' It Happen."

The 16 show choir groups will perform virtually from high schools in Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin and Massachusetts. There also will be more than 50 students competing in solo performances.

No need to come to Hersey to see the performances. It's all free and available through an online stream. Register here: https://givebutter.com/chicagolandshowcase2021.

Details and the performance schedule are available upon registration.

While the event is free, donations to the Hersey Choir Program are welcomed.

"This year has once again proven that my students are amazing young men and women who have kept a positive attitude and pivoted whenever asked," said Sara Michael, Hersey choir director. "I couldn't be prouder of them."
