COVID-19: One death in Glenview in past week

A Glenview resident died of COVID-19 in the past week, bringing total fatalities to 101 and cases to 3,800 since the pandemic began a year ago.

Northbrook has had 111 deaths and 2,785 cases, but no deaths in the past week, Cook County public health and medical examiner's offices reported.

The number of cases grew by 50 in Glenview, down from 62 the previous week. In Northbrook, new cases totaled 56, up from 27 the previous week.

As of Tuesday, suburban Cook County had 232,159 cases and 4,532 deaths, according to the state. In Chicago there have been 247,754 cases and 4,925 deaths.

There have been 512,731 COVID-19 cases across suburban Cook, DuPage, Kane, Lake, McHenry and Will counties as of Tuesday. That's almost 42.7% of the state's total, according to the Illinois Department of Public Health. There have been 8,578 deaths in the suburbs, which is 41.3% of all COVID-19 deaths in Illinois.

Total cases statewide stand at 1,201,027, and 20,781 Illinoisans have died since the pandemic began.
