HEParks Recognized for Excellence in Financial Reporting

The Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for the fiscal year ending in 2019 has been awarded to Hoffman Estates Park District (HEParks) by Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) for its Comprehensive Annual Financial Report.

The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.

An Award of Financial Reporting Achievement has been awarded to HEParks, the Superintendent of Business, Lynne Cotshott, CPRP, the Director of Finance and Administration, Nicole Hopkins, CPA, and members of the finance department as those primarily responsible for preparing the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report. HEParks has received the award seven times since 2014.

The Comprehensive Annual Financial Report has been judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, which includes demonstrating a constructive "spirit of full disclosure" to communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report.

GFOA advances excellence in government finance by providing best practices, professional, development, resources and practical research for more than 20,500 members and the communities they serve.
