We asked, you shared: Pandemic pets

Back in December, we asked readers to send us photos of pets they'd adopted during the pandemic.

We've shared many of those photos over the past several weeks.

We'd like to invite readers who haven't yet submitted one to send us a photo of your pet.

Go to www.dailyherald.com/share/article and follow the directions to upload your photo. Put "Pandemic Pets" as the article title. In the "article text" field, include your full name, the town you live in, your email address (in case we have a question) and a couple of brief sentences about how and why you adopted your pet, and from where. And your pet's name, of course!

We look forward to sharing more pets in upcoming Neighbor sections.

Last summer, we started fostering cats for the Heartland Animal Shelter in Northbrook, to both help an animal in need and to see if a cat would fit our lifestyle. We adopted the second cat we fostered and have shared our home with two more cats since. Here is our cat on the left, Graham, with our current foster, Monk. Monk is a sweet cat who loves to cuddle, as you can see. Courtesy of Ryann Uden, Arlington Heights
This is Bo. He is a 14-month-old pit bull hound mix rescued from Second City Canine Center in Palatine. We recently lost our 12-year-old boxer and wanted to give another dog a chance for a good life. (Our) daughters are stuck in the house due to the pandemic and enjoy the bond they created with Bo over the last few months. I needed a walking buddy. He loves chew toys. He can play tug-o-war with the best of them, and usually wins. He has a gentle soul and is very quiet. Courtesy of Harry Ratschan, Mount Prospect
Westen, a 2-year-old retired racing greyhound, was adopted from Greyhounds Only. He came to his forever home in October after being fostered for two weeks. He has since learned to climb stairs and adjust to the snow! He's the hit of the neighborhood in his winter coat. In this photo, he is stepping outside with Steve to bring in the Daily Herald.
