Six-time Apollo Winner Tarrey Torae heats up Valentine's Day weekend with a livestreamed concert at 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 13.

Torae's husband, J. Ivy joins her in this concert featuring songs from Torae's upcoming album of love songs, "Catching Feelings." This concert is part of the Eighth Blackbird Presents: Chicago Artist Workshop series of live streamed concerts hosted at the Eighth Blackbird production space located at 4045 N. Rockwell St. in Chicago.

Torae has appeared and written on Grammy Award-winning albums by Kanye West and John Legend. Her voice can be heard on records by J. Ivy, Pete Rock, Freeway and The Last Poets. Her single and EP releases include "Let It Go," "Take Me Home" and "Freedom Ride." Albums include "The Sweetest Survivor" and the soon-to-be-released "Catching Feelings."

Torae's performance credits include many summer festivals and several national tours such as a 55-city Coca Cola NAACP Tour, the Nissan/Essence Magazine Moyo Music Mix Tour, The Rock the Bells Festival Tour and Lollapalooza. She has performed on stages with The Roots, Common, Talib Kweli, Patti Labelle and Stevie Wonder and has shared stages with Mos Def, Nas, Usher, Faith Evans, Dave Chappelle, Lupe Fiasco, Little Brother, El Debarge, Lyfe Jennings, Eric Roberson, India Arie', Amel Larrieux, the late great Gil-Scott Heron, Will iAm, Stevie Wonder and many others. Most recently she was featured singing "Lift Every Voice" in the Chicago Bulls' 2021 MLK Day Tribute. Torae can also be seen as Madame Quickly in the film "Hal King" that recently premiered on Amazon Prime, ITunes, and other VOD platforms.

Eighth Blackbird, a four-time Grammy Award-winning Chicago-based music ensemble opens their Winter 2021 Chicago Artists Workshop (CAW) live streamed concert series with six-time Apollo Winner Tarrey Torae 7 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 13. Suggested ticket price per household is $20, but options include choosing a price as well as contributing as a supporter. The evening will include interviews and a Q&A with the artists.
