Palatine Area Chamber of Commerce Announces 2020 Key to Success Award Winners
The Palatine Area Chamber of Commerce (PACC) is pleased to announce the winners of the 2020 Key to Success awards which were recognized during a ceremony that took place virtually Friday, December 4, 2020 on Zoom.
The annual event honors local businesses, organizations and individuals who have demonstrated leadership and made significant contributions to the Palatine community over the past year.
"I would like to thank the winners, nominees, sponsors and volunteers who were instrumental in making this event a success," said PACC Executive Director Steven Gaus. "We have been hosting this ceremony since 2014 and it is an honor to work with those who strengthen not only our organization, but also the greater Palatine community."
The 2020 Key to Success award winners are:
• Silver Star Business of the Year (10 or less employees): Chicago Culinary Kitchen
• Platinum Business of the Year (11 employees and up): Leader Automotive
• New Business of the Year: Illinois Spinal Care
• Business Leader of the Year: Julie Selof
• Chamber Volunteer of the Year: Roberta Sullivan
• Community Volunteers of the Year (co-award): James Parker, Cathie Johnson
• Community Organization of the Year: Elderwerks
• Youth Rising Star: Akash Veeravalli
Special Awards were presented as well. The Chamber Remembrance was given to Gail Cohen-DeMarco, an extremely involved member who passed away this fall, Larry Moats who received the Above and Beyond Award and Janet and Wally Denger received the Lifetime Community Service Award.
Entertainment was provided by Music on Stage with performances by Singer Rick Burd, as well as Anish Mukherjee from Fremd High School. The Keynote Speaker was John Coyle, a Design Thinking & Innovation Expert, Olympic Medalist, Author, Professor, NBC analyst and "The Time Guy."
The event also included raffles and the installation of the 2021 PACC board of directors.
Dinner (curbside pickup) was provided by Cafe Fourteen, Gianni's Cafe and Agio Italian Bistro and wine was provided by Garfield's Beverage Warehouse and Jewel/Osco. Entertainment Sponsors were Palatine Bank & Trust and Vicarious Multimedia. Drink Sponsors included: Cook, Cork & Fork, Brandt Financial Concepts, Inc., Salon Lorrene, Allstate Agent Tony Gambino, State Farm Agent Sasha Ivanov, Jewel/Osco, Pan American Bank & Trust and Garfield's Beverage Warehouse; and the Award Sponsor was Consumers Credit Union. Thanks also go out to the Bridge Youth & Family Services for their donation of Dukes of Hazzard memorabilia for the KTS auction.
