Marion Mahony Griffin; A Gifted Architect in a Man's World: Virtually from 7-8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 10, Winnetka Historical Society Museum. This Virtual Presentation by Jan Pavlovic features Marion Mahony, a resident of Winnetka for many years and the first licensed female architect in history. Defying the accepted role of women in the early 20th century, Mahony-Griffin worked as a lead designer for Frank Lloyd Wright and as an equal partner with her husband, Walter Burley Griffin. Alice Paul was one of the lead strategists in the fight to win votes for American women.
