Center of Concern Hosts Free Senior Health Insurance Seminar

The Center of Concern is hosting a free Senior Health Insurance Seminar on Thursday, November 12 featuring knowledgeable and trained Senior Health Insurance counselors who will share objective information about Medicare and other health insurance options. This virtual discussion will answer questions about Medicare, Medicare supplement, long-term care, Medicare HMOs, private fee-for-service, and other health insurance options.

The Senior Health Insurance Options Seminar will be available online or by phone on Thursday, November 12 at 10:30 AM and again at 6:00 PM. As restrictions on in-person gatherings remain in place due to COVID-19, "we will continue to adjust service delivery to ensure the safety of residents served and our Center of Concern family during these unprecedented times," said Executive Director John McNabola.

If interested, one-on-one socially distanced sessions can also be made with a counselor by calling the Center of Concern. Through the Senior Health Insurance Program (SHIP), trained counselors conduct individual health insurance counseling sessions to assist clients with organizing and filing Medicare and Medicare supplemental claims, as well as analyzing Medicare supplement and long term care policies. Through these confidential sessions, older adults can understand their specific rights and options without risk of any offers to sell or solicit any type of insurance.

Medicare's Open Enrollment Period is from October 15 through December 7. The Center of Concern is committed to providing objective health insurance information to older adults through this free online seminar and individual counseling sessions.
