One step at a time: Virtual Moving Day Chicago fundraiser benefits the Parkinson's Foundation
It's time to get moving!
Not just to get out and enjoy the great fall weather or to escape the doldrums of your house. But because you are able to easily walk or run without pain or fear of falling down with each step.
The Parkinson's Foundation is hosting its annual Moving Day Chicago virtually Saturday, Oct. 24. Traditionally, the event brings together the Parkinson's community for a day of movement at Soldier Field, but this year, the event will be virtual via Facebook Live starting at 10:30 a.m.
It is free to register and participate in virtual Moving Day. Patrick Fazio of NBC5-Chicago is returning as the emcee, along with special guests who will share their stories and lead exercises, including tango, yoga, karate and more.
For information on how to sign up or make a donation, visit MovingDayChicago.org.
All proceeds from this event will benefit the Parkinson's Foundation, which works to improve the lives of people with Parkinson's and to advance research toward a cure. For more information about the foundation, visit www.parkinson.org.
Today, Kim Isaak of Wood Dale and Jenny Paholke of Cary talk about their loved ones fighting Parkinson's disease and why they walk.
