56 new COVID-19 cases in Glenview and Northbrook in past week; no new deaths

Fifty-six new cases of COVID-19 were reported in the past week in Glenview and Northbrook, but there were no new deaths, Cook County public health and medical examiner's offices reported.

There were 38 new cases in Glenview and 18 in Northbrook from Aug. 19 through Tuesday.

In Glenview, 827 people have tested positive and 50 people have died since the pandemic began. In Northbrook, 474 have tested positive and 42 have died.

In the previous week, Aug. 12 to 18, Glenview cases increased by 35 and Northbrook cases increased by 15, and there were no new deaths.

Suburban Cook County had 53,157 cases and 2,165 deaths as of Tuesday, according to the Illinois Department of Public Health. In Chicago there were 69,266 cases and 2,857 fatalities.

Suburban Cook, DuPage, Kane, Lake, McHenry and Will counties had recorded 106,636 COVID-19 cases and 3,932 deaths as of Tuesday.

Illinois had 223,470 cases, including 7,917 deaths.
