Marie Loiacono named Marklund HR director

Marie Loiacono was recently appointed the new director of human resources for Marklund, a nonprofit organization in the western suburbs that provides residential, therapeutic and educational services to children and adults with profound developmental disabilities and those with autism.

In this position, Loiacono plans and directs all aspects of Marklund's human resources policies, objectives and initiatives, and oversees the HR Department. She has been with Marklund since 2011.

"I believe each and every employee's job contributes to Marklund's mission & vision and is integral to enhancing the lives of the individuals we serve," she said.

Loiacono graduated from DePaul University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Human Resource Management. Marie holds certifications and credentials in Professional in Human Resources, Analytics for Talent Management, Change Management for HR, Human Capital Strategist, Strategic Human Resource Business Partner, Coaching for Performance and Engagement, Certified Internet Recruiter, and Certified Social Sourcing Recruiter.

She is a member of the Society of Human Resource Management and the Oak Brook Human Resources Association.

At Marklund, she replaces Joan Rubino, who retired this summer after 28 years.

With locations in Geneva, Elgin and Bloomingdale, Marklund has more than 500 employees and serves 174 residents.
