Missing Glenview-area teen located safely

A Glenview-area teen who had been missing since last weekend has been located safely, Cook County sheriff's police said Thursday morning.

Authorities said 16-year-old girl Monica Elias, also known as Monica Giron, had last been seen leaving her home on the 10300 block of Michael Todd Terrace in a gray vehicle with an unknown male driver about 1 p.m. Saturday.

The sheriff's office said Wednesday she may be in the vicinity of Chicago's lakefront, but didn't disclose any information Thursday on where she had been located or under what circumstances.
