Bridgewater Studio produces emergency face shields for the City of Chicago
Supporting the fight against the coronavirus pandemic, Bridgewater Studio in Chicago has begun production on emergency face shields for the City of Chicago's first responders. The local design and fabrication studio created a supply chain at its Bridgeport location to manufacture 150,000 face shields by Wednesday, April 8. The shields will be boxed and available for contactless pickup or delivery.
The efforts are a result of the partnership between Bridgewater Studio and Bednark Studio in New York City. Bridgewater Studio adapted the New York State Department of Health-approved design created by Bednark Studio and fashioned its own prototype assembled by Bridgewater Studio and its employees.
"This is a situation where we need to protect and maintain the health and safety of our First Responders and Healthcare professionals if we, as a community, are going to be successful in this crisis," says Managing Partner Eric Cup. "We're grateful as a company that we can immediately pivot and offer support to anyone who is caring for the health and safety of our entire community!"
To further help their efforts, Bridgewater Studio is actively sourcing the following items for immediate delivery to 1719 W. 35th:
• ELASTIC BAND: ¾" or 1" Elastics up to 100,000 yards
• FOAM: 1"x1" adhesive backed foam 90,000 Linear Feet
• PETG: Sheets .02" or .03" thickness
