Crespo Highlights Attorney General's Consumer Helpline Amid Price Gouging Reports

STREAMWOOD, Ill. - State Rep. Fred Crespo, D-Hoffman Estates, is urging anyone who has witnessed any unreasonable price hikes, fraud or other anti-consumer practice to report it by submitting a consumer complaint to the Attorney General's Office.

"It is unacceptable that some individuals out there are taking advantage of the uncertainty and angst among families in our communities," Crespo said. "The Attorney General's consumer team is on our side, so I urge anyone who witnesses unreasonable price hikes on essential goods to report it immediately."

Crespo is highlighting the Attorney General's complaint online submission form, which allows consumers to submit complaints about anti-consumer practices they may witness, such as price gouging. Local residents can submit their complaints by visiting http://ccformsubmission.ilattorneygeneral.net. Crespo's constituent service office can also assist local families remotely via email at fred@fredcrespo.com or by phone at (630) 372-3340.

"In order to get through this public health crisis, everyone must have access basic necessities," Crespo said. "We must be vigilant and ensure that bad actors are held accountable for their greed and putting health at risk."
