Anderson Arts Center closes to public

The Anderson Arts Center will close effective immediately as part of the national social distancing effort to reduce the spread of the coronavirus. The tentative date to reopen is Saturday, April 4.

"We are committed to ensuring the safety of our guests, volunteers, and staff," said Kemper Center Executive Director Edward Kubicki. "The best way to do this, and to reduce the risk of the spread of the virus, is to close the Anderson Arts Center to visitors and volunteers at this time."

The closure includes all scheduled classes through April 4. As of today, opening weekend of the Durkee Mansion on April 4-5, and the Get Behind the Arts Studio Tour, scheduled for April 26, will proceed as planned.

The Arts Center will evaluate the reopening date based on advice from state and local officials, as it gets closer to April 4. Watch for updates on www.kempercenter.com and www.andersonartscenter.com, and social media channels.
