Police begin special traffic safety enforcement campaign
Police departments across the suburbs, including in Palatine, Schaumburg and Streamwood, started a special traffic safety enforcement campaign Monday that'll run through Jan. 2.
As part of the high-visibility "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" effort, Palatine police plan a roadside safety check from late evening Dec. 20 through early morning Dec. 21 near Algonquin and Roselle roads.
Police will have extra uniformed police officers on the streets conducting saturation patrols dedicated to identifying an impaired drivers, as well as strictly enforcing speeding, cellphone and seat belt violations.
