Chicago Medical Society hosts annual holiday event

The medical community enjoyed an evening of good cheer, delectable hors d'oeuvres and drinks at the Chicago Medical Society's annual holiday reception Dec. 5.

Held at the elegant old-world Standard Club of Chicago, the event was a perfect way to thank all the hardworking physicians, administrators, attorneys, lawmakers, and friends of medicine who together comprise the local healthcare community. More than 200 attended.

This festive Chicago Medical Society tradition also allows members and guests to relax and, for newcomers, it provides a friendly welcome to the medical society. The diverse guest list ensures lively and informed conversation about issues related to healthcare in Illinois.

Founded in 1850, the Chicago Medical Society is one of the oldest and largest medical societies in the United States. But its mission remains as vital as ever. In addition to improving public health locally, programs educate physicians of all specialty areas while encouraging professional interaction and unity. The medical society's grassroots political advocacy benefits all 17,000 physicians in Cook County.
