Visiting chef and ECC alum Josh Kackley puts on early fall feast at ECC campus restaurant

On Wednesday, Oct. 3, visiting chef Josh Kackley will help usher in cooler weather with his fall feast at 6 p.m. at the Elgin Community College Spartan Terrace Restaurant.

Chef Kackley will work side by side with ECC Culinary Arts and Hospitality students to prepare a special, four-course evening meal with a fall flavor.

The menu features a creamy roasted butternut squash soup with bacon, a beautiful fall greens salad, grilled Zabuton (American Wagyu) steak with a brandy peppercorn sauce, and a warm maple bread pudding with bourbon-soaked cherries for dessert. Hors d'oeuvres and two wine courses are included.

Kackley began his culinary career at Elgin Community College, graduating from the Culinary Arts program in 2003. For the past 15 years, he has worked for Sysco Foodservice of Chicago, working with other chefs and restaurant owners to build marketing plans to grow their businesses.

Reservations are $60 per person and available by calling the ECC Arts Center Box Office at (847) 622-0300 or online at tickets.elgin.edu. The deadline to purchase tickets is noon on Wednesday, Sept. 25.

The restraunt is located in the Culinary Arts Center, Building I, 1700 Spartan Drive, Elgin.
