Wheaton bicyclist seriously injured in Winfield crash
A Wheaton man was hospitalized Friday with serious injuries after he was struck by a car while riding his bicycle in Winfield, police said.
Officers and paramedics responded to the crash at Jewell and Pleasant Hill roads about 6:36 a.m.
A 67-year-old Winfield man was driving a 2009 Honda Fit when the car collided with the 42-year-old bicyclist, who was riding on Jewell, police said.
The Wheaton man was rushed to Northwestern Medicine Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield for treatment of his injuries.
Winfield police are investigating the crash with the assistance of the DuPage Metropolitan Emergency Response and Investigation Team's Accident Reconstruction Unit.
