Heart of the City to host youth fall soccer league in Waukegan

Heart of the City and Foss Park District invite boys and girls born in 2006-13 to participate in Soccer Academy Fall League, a coed league program with a focus on player development.

The program, held at Twin City Park in Waukegan, will run from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturdays for six weeks, Sept. 14 through Oct. 19. Each session will include 30 minutes of educational training activities, followed by a game against another team.

Soccer Academy Fall League is focused primarily on offering youth opportunities in soccer in a balanced, competitive setting. Heart of the City directors will assign players to teams based on skill and experience level to ensure good competition.

Additionally, each player is guaranteed playing time for at least one-half of each game, so that all players have the opportunity to learn, have fun and develop their soccer skills.

The league will be led by Heart of the City's licensed professional coaches and HOTC Elite travel club high school athletes.

Cost is $25. Each participant will receive a free academy T-shirt.
