Des Plaines Mission Team Efforts Enhance Church Campground

In June members and friends of First Congregational United Church of Christ (UCC) in Des Plaines traveled to Sawyer, MI for a seven-day mission trip. For the past four years, church mission team members have volunteered their time at Tower Hill, the UCC conference camp near Warren Dunes State Park, where they have completed various maintenance and repair projects.

This year the team painted the outside of three A-frame buildings and built decks on the back. They stained nine decks, rebuilt the porch floor of the administration building and painted its railings, floor, windows and door.

Many mission team members have camped at Tower Hill over the years or have children who attended camps there. The church mission team's work will enhance the facilities for future generations to enjoy.
