Fox Trot participants race ahead of the spring snowstorm
On April 27, the Batavia Mothers' Club Foundation hosted the 19th annual Fox Trot 5K & 10K and kids runs at the Batavia Riverwalk.
Nearly 200 runners and walkers enjoyed the races just before the untimely winter weather arrived.
Overall, the event raised close to $3,000 for area charities and schools.
The Batavia Mothers' Club Foundation thanks all of the donors, volunteers and sponsors, especially Apollo Development & Investment; A.R. Bohr Roofing, LLC; and Orangetheory Fitness; and in-kind donors without whom these events could not take place.
They also would like to thank all of the dedicated runners and walkers, many of whom return year after year.
The money raised from this event, as well as all of the foundation's events, are disbursed to local charities and educational organizations serving women, children and families.
The Batavia Mothers' Club Foundation is a 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization, founded in 1934, dedicated to improving the quality of life for children in the Fox Valley area.
Last year, the club donated over $27,000 to local charities, including CHIP-IN Batavia and CASA Kane County, whose activities support this mission.
The Batavia Mothers' Club Foundation is open to all mothers in the area who are interested in local philanthropic, service, and community activities.
The club's final monthly meeting of the season will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 8, at Batavia Moose Lodge, 1535 S. Batavia Ave.
