Local wrestler heading to Pan Am Games

Danny Sheen of St. Charles won the USA Team Trials for the 2019 Pan American Games. He will travel to Morelia, Mexico in June to represent the United States.

Danny attends Montini Catholic High School and wrestles for Izzy Style Wrestling out of Addison.

FloWrestling sponsored the USA Wrestling Team Trials at FloNationals on April 19-20 in Indiana, Pennsylvania.

There, Sheen beat an opponent in the Greco Roman final who was 72-1 and was undefeated for two years.

This opponent also took gold the year before in both wrestling styles in the Pan American Games.

The Pan American Games are an intercontinental competition which will take place in Morelia, Mexico on June 28-30.

The USA is sending only one wrestler to compete in both styles of international wrestling, Greco Roman and freestyle.
