Forum looks at clean energy in DuPage

The League of Women Voters Roselle/Bloomingdale will present a clean energy forum titled "Clean Energy in DuPage: Bartlett, Bloomingdale and Roselle" from 7 to 8:45 p.m. Monday, April 8, at the Bloomingdale Public Library, 101 Fairfield Way, Bloomingdale.

This community event is free, and you do not need to be a League member.

This forum will raise awareness of clean energy options in the communities and answer questions on how to implement them in homes, businesses and institutions. It will offer real examples of what is currently happening locally and in the Chicago region.

It will include presentations on "The Illinois Approach to Solar Energy" by Jeff Gahris, Illinois Solar Energy Ambassador, followed by a panel discussion on clean energy, solar options and an update on state/federal legislation featuring Edith Makra of the Regional Clean Energy Programs; Jeff O'Connell, Lake Park High School; and Deni Mathews, Bartlett SolSmart Experience.

The event will be moderated by John Perrecone, a former Environmental Protection Specialist at U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
