AAUW Naperville Area branch seeks applicants for Angeline Gale Scholarship

The American Association of University Women-Naperville Area branch's annual Angeline Gale Scholarship awards $4,000 to a female student who has had their education interrupted. The applicant must be seeking to complete either an associate's degree or a bachelor's degree.

The requirements are female; 26 years of age or older; seeking an associate's degree within 1 year or junior status if seeking an undergrad degree; cumulative grade-point average of 3.00 or higher; and a resident in DuPage, Will, Kane, or Kendall county.

The student may be part-time or full-time, enrolled in traditional program or accelerated program.

Applications are due by Friday, March 15. The scholarship will be awarded in May.

The 2018 recipient was Heather Hovinen, who was a junior in the Honors Program at the University of Illinois at Chicago where she is pursuing a degree in psychology and has a G.P.A. of 4.0. She is working on research studies with adolescents with depression.

Selection will be made by April 26. The funds will be dispersed shortly thereafter.
