Carnival emphasizes character counts in Elk Grove

The Community Character Coalition of Elk Grove is excited to celebrate the exceptional character found in the community by presenting a Carnival of Exceptional Character on Saturday, Feb. 23.

Community Character Coalition of Elk Grove invites you to attend this family-friendly event that is free to the community. Carnival-style games and activities will keep the kids happy for hours.

As families travel through the carnival booths, they will learn about the programs and services available from community service groups that help to make Elk Grove Village an exceptional community with exceptional character. More than 28 community service groups will be represented.

The carnival will be from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, at the Elk Grove Park District Pavilion, 1000 Wellington Ave., in Elk Grove Village. Free games and prizes, including ring toss, Bozo buckets, bounce house, Dog Tags and more, will be featured. Free food will be served while supplies last.

This event drew more than 1,200 attendees last year (if building space capacity is reached, entrance will be restricted). Parking will be available in the Pavilion lot as well as the Pirate's Cove lot and across Wellington Avenue, near the Elk Grove Library and the village hall. There will be a police crossing guard on Wellington Avenue. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Community Character Coalition wishes to thank the Shinnyo-en Foundation, Gullo International, Grove Memorial Chapel, Porte Brown, Waste Management and the Elk Grove Park District for their support of this wonderful community event.
