Vernon Hills queens volunteer at the Fill a Heart 4 Kids event

Monday, January 21, 2019, Jr. Miss Vernon Hills Haley Kalinowski and Little Miss Vernon Hills Jayla Wascow, volunteered at the Fill a Heart 4 Kids event.

Fill a Heart 4 Kids helps homeless youth and foster children to feel loved and valued. With donations, this non for profit organization offers the following:

4 Kids Care Packages filled with gifts and necessities for birthdays, holidays and special occasions for rescued and homeless children.

4 Kids BacPacs complete with immediate basic necessities such as blankets, toiletries and food for homeless youth.

4 Kids LockerHomes give them a place to store their belongings while they are in school or work.

4 Kids Special Events bring together volunteers and the children where they can go to a movie, help a child celebrate their birthday or special holiday.

These events are precious to children who are homeless or in foster care.

Haley and Jayla helped create Happy Candy Banners that will decorate group homes for foster children. They also created Valentine's Day cards and wrapped Fill A Heart 4 Kids Care Packages with a teddy bear, candy, Valentine's Day cards and homemade bracelets.

The queens were delighted to volunteer for this community based event.
