League of Women Voters talks elections

The League of Women Voters Roselle/Bloomingdale is planning two election-related events in the coming weeks.

The first will feature Bonnie Cox, president of the League of Women Voters of Illinois, who will discuss "Why Love the League" from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5, at the Trinity Community Center, 233 Maple Ave. in Roselle.

The second is a candidates forum at 1 p.m. Sunday, March 10, in the East Campus auditorium of Lake Park High School, 600 S. Medinah Road, Roselle.

The forum will feature candidates running in local races, including municipal, school district, park district and library elections. The event is an opportunity for voters to learn more about the credentials and platforms of the candidates in the contested elections.

Doors will open at 1 p.m. for a "meet and greet" with the candidates, followed by the moderated forum for candidates in contested races. Specific timing will be shared on the group's website, www.lwvrb.org.
