St. Patrick's and Healing Hands Mission to host program on immigrant justice Jan. 14

St. Patrick Peace & Justice Committee, along with Healing Hands Mission, is having a presentation titled "Immigrant Justice: How Do We Welcome the Child Stranger" at 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 14, in the lower level Father Carse Center at the Cedar Street church in downtown St. Charles.

The presenter will be the Rev. Corey Brost, member of the clerics of St. Viator, a religious order of brothers, priests and lay associates. Father Corey works as an advocate for immigration rights and he became co-founder of Viator House of Hospitality in the Northwest Suburbs. Viator House provides a home and support for over 20 young men who fled their homelands and are seeking asylum in the U.S. Father Corey also will have a reflection on the treatment of the immigrant as it relates to Christian values.

Viator House of Hospitality provides compassionate accompaniment of young adult male immigrants seeking legal relief.

Established in January 2017 by the Clerics of St. Viator, it provides a supportive living environment where these young men can attend school, improve language skills, grow spiritually and emotionally, receive medical attention, and work while they await court proceedings that determine whether they can become U.S. citizens.
