Naperville Public Library's winter reading program returns

Naperville Public Library is promoting literacy and the importance of reading by encouraging children to sign-up for its annual Winter Reading Program.

Starting Dec. 10 to Jan. 25, kids from birth through fifth grade can read and log books for chances to earn prizes like books, toys and weekly drawings for Chicago Wolves tickets.

One grand prize winner for each building will be drawn at the end of the program.

There is no need for a library card to participate. Multiple family members can share one account.

Registration will last until Friday, Jan. 11.

A Teen Winter Reading Program is also available for teens in sixth to 12th grade.

Teen readers will have a chance to win a winter-themed prize basket or Amazon gift card.

Sponsors for the Winter Reading Program include 2Toots Grill, Bowlero, California Pizza Kitchen, Chicago Wolves Read to Succeed, DeEtta's Bakery, Epic Air Trampoline Park, Golden Corral, Hollywood Palms Cinemas and Meatheads.

Customers can register at the Children's Service Desk at any of the library's three buildings: Nichols Library, 200 W. Jefferson Ave.; Naper Boulevard Library, 2035 S. Naper Blvd.; and 95th Street Library, 3015 Cedar Glade Drive. The libraries will be closed on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year's Day. It will close at 5 p.m. on New Year's Eve.
