Girls golf: Rohwedders help lead Wheeling
Lifted by the Rohwedder sisters, Wheeling girls golf team picked up a pair of wins at the Rob Roy Golf Course in Prospect Heights on Thursday in a Mid-Suburban League tri meet.
Adrienne Rohwedder fired a 33 with 3 birdies, 6 pars and no bogeys while Symantha Rohwedder came in with a 39. Elena Falkiner (47) and Diane Purdes (62) contributed the next two scores for coach Peggy Ellsworth's Wildcats (181), who topped Hersey (210) and Hoffman Estates (237).
Casey Byer shot a 51 for the Huskies while Kathryn Costello, Sarah Ebert, Madeline Ritter and Kelly Hannon each shot 53.
Hoffman was led by Llanna Rabbani's 55.
BG wins two: Led by Claire McLoone's 42, host Buffalo Grove picked up a pair of wins. The Bison (184) defeated Fremd (203) and Rolling Meadows (214).
Other tops scorers for coach Jeff Grybash's Bison were Alisa Patel (45), Kelly Allaire (48), Zoe Childs (49) and Katie Gordon (49).
The Vikings were paced by Kellie Liu (43), Liz Prigge (51), Alex Prigge (53) and Aeron Oh (56) while top scorers for the Mustangs included Mallory Brand (48), Sarah Tanny (53), Colette O'Grady (55) and Jessica Perns (58).
Maine South d. Maine West: The Hawks recorded a 172-160 win over the Warriros who were led by Anastasia Peric (41), Katie Benziger (41), Clara Cupuro (44) and Elisabeth McCrea (46).
