'Living' Constitution just invites mischief
Our Constitution and Bill of Rights have survived for over 200 years because they are incredibly written. And if you read the Federalist Papers you can see the open debate and intent of the founders. Their product is absolute genius.
Today's debate about a Supreme Court Justice may be political, but more likely it's about the interpretation of the Constitution. The founders knew that humans have flaws and that there would be "mischief." That's where the living document concept opens the door to "mischief." We have seen evidence of such mischief repeatedly in the Congress, Executive and Judicial Branches.
It is important that we have "originalists" dominate the court if we are to remain a constitutional government, and the people are to be protected from the political class.
