Independence is key
In response to the Supreme Court not taking up the Wisconsin legislative gerrymandering case, I maintain that if all voters were as fiercely an independent voter as I am, it wouldn't matter how legislative maps were drawn. I make an effort to carefully study the issues and the candidates and vote for the most qualified regardless of party (or least unqualified in some cases) with the following priorities: What's best for the country followed by what's best for the state and then what's best for my local community.
Thinking hypothetically, I just have to ask: Based on Jeff Session quoting the Apostle Paul in Roman 13 that we citizens need "...to obey the laws of the government because God has ordained the government for his purposes," would he say that would have been true in Hitler's Germany, Stalin's Russia and now in Kim Jong Un's North Korea?
