Figure Skaters Display Their Talent in Exhibition

The figure skaters of the Hoffman Estates Park District's Figure Skating Academy will display their talents at the spring figure skating exhibition, "Follow Your Dreams" to take place on Sunday, May 6 from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Triphahn Center Ice Arena (1685 W. Higgins Rd.). The show will include guest performances by US National level-Olympic hopeful skaters and also national/international synchronized skating teams.

The park district's own figure skaters of all levels will showcase their skills in the performance. Admission is free and open to the public.

"We're so excited for this exhibition because the skaters have worked hard all season and deserve their time to shine," said Melissa Motyka, figure skating manager for HE Parks.

HE Parks offers figure skating lessons starting at age 3 through the United Skates' Figure Skating's Learn to Skate curriculum. Class fees include skate rental, if needed, and a membership in U.S. Learn to Skate.

The park district will offer free ice skating this summer on June 17, July 22 and August 19. Admission and skate rental will be free of charge at the Triphahn Ice Arena.
