Glenbard North collecting donations for food pantries

Glenbard North High School is partnering with the Rotary Club of Carol Stream for the eighth annual Community-Wide Food Drive to benefit local food pantries.

The food drive will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 21, at the school, 990 Kuhn Road in Carol Stream.

Please support this community event by dropping off nonperishable food and nonfood items.

The following nonperishable food items are suggested: condiments/cooking aids (flour, sugar, ketchup, cooking oil), canned meats (beef, ham, chicken, salmon, beef stew, chili w/meat), powdered and evaporated milk, canned fruits and vegetables, dried fruit, boxes of rice, Cheerios or Raisin Bran, peanut butter, jelly, instant oatmeal or grits, pasta, pasta sauce, biscuit mix, and spices (salt, pepper, cinnamon).

Also needed are nonfood items such as laundry detergent, shampoo, soap, toilet paper, diapers size 3-5, wipes, feminine products and pet food.
