ECC Theatre presents 'She Kills Monsters,' an action-packed comedic play of fantasy and adventure
Elgin Community College Theatre's production of "She Kills Monsters," a dramatic comedy play by Qui Nguyen, will take place April 20-29. "She Kills Monsters" is a comedic romp into the world of fantasy role-playing games. Following the death of her teenage sister, Tilly, Agnes Evans finds Tilly's "Dungeons & Dragons" notebook and stumbles into a journey of self-discovery and action-packed adventure in the imaginary world that was once Tilly's refuge. This dramatic comedy offers a heart-pounding homage to the geek and warrior within us all.
When director Susan A. Robinson encountered this play a couple years ago, she had a wonderful time watching it. Because of its great sense of humor, stage combat and female empowerment theme, she was hooked.
"I knew we needed a play the students could relate to; that they could get excited about, and that would take the audience on a wild and adventurous ride," Robinson said. "It is empowering, funny and full of love."
Tickets for ECC Arts Center's production of "She Kills Monsters" are $11 or $9 for students and seniors. This performance contains adult content and adult language.
