Northwest Suburban Man's Law Practice Rooted in Philosophy of Giving Back

Chuck Adler, a longtime Arlington Heights resident, has a deep-rooted past in not only giving back to the local community, but also founding charitable causes and community organizations that exist to this day.

Adler, the managing partner of Adler Law Offices, Ltd. is the founder of a Thanksgiving Basket food drive program that serves an estimated 400 people each year. More than 10 years ago, the personal injury and medical malpractice attorney became aware of the struggle local families were having to afford the traditional holiday meal - and decided to do something about it.

As a [then] Arlington Heights Rotarian, he reached out to leaders at Arlington Park Racetrack, the Village of Arlington Heights and Palatine Township. Funds were then raised from the community and all of the fixings for a traditional Thanksgiving meal were purchased, individually boxed and distributed to persons and families in-need for them to cook and enjoy for the holiday. Adler always made sure to remind the program's volunteers to reflect on the fact they had made a real difference; that they had helped people who would otherwise not have been able to enjoy that special meal.

"It's a wonderful experience creating something that impacts the lives of others; people from all walks of life have benefitted over the years," Adler said.

Adler is a past vice-president and director of the Arlington Heights Chamber of Commerce, one of the founders and past president of Arlington Heights Crime Stoppers, a Rotarian, former director of the United Way of Arlington Heights and of the Prairie Center for Performing Arts, and a current director for the North and Northwest Regional Board of the United Way of Metropolitan Chicago. He is also a past recipient of the Arlington Heights 'Heart of Gold' award.

His philosophy of giving back has also found its way into the core principles of his law practice.

Each year, Adler Law Offices, Ltd. offers a 'Pro Bono Day', where individuals can schedule an appointment and receive counseling on any issue of the law - even if it doesn't relate to Adler's specialties, which include personal injury, medical malpractice, product or premises liability, construction accidents and litigation.

"If someone needs assistance, we will provide a referral to a firm that specializes in the issue, who also will provide the advice, pro bono," Adler said.

Protecting his clients' rights, and ensuring they are financially compensated to the fullest extent of the law, are strongly emphasized in the way Adler practices law.

"Just as so many of us volunteer our time and efforts to help those who are struggling, my practice is about protecting people who need help recovering financial losses due to injury - or in the worst cases - the death of a loved one who was a provider for the family," he said.

Adler works with all members of a client's family, if necessary, and makes himself available day and night when the needs arise. He describes the type of representation his firm offers as a 'bulldog approach' that leaves no stone unturned. Outside of his legal team, he sources a wide array of experts to assist with researching cases to provide the best representation possible. This team includes investigators, doctors, nurses, architects and scientists of various disciplines, among others.

Asked why he went into personal injury law, Adler responds by saying, "I love litigation, I love the courtroom; my comfort zone is in the courtroom. My strengths are fighting as hard as I can for clients, and making a positive impact."

Recently chosen as one of the Top Lawyers in North America, Adler is a member of the Northwest Suburban Bar Association, the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, the Illinois State Bar Association, the Chicago Bar Association, the Northwest Suburban Bar Association and the American Trial Lawyers Association.

As a senior Law Academy speaker, Adler has travelled the county lecturing on jury trials and the court system. His most recent published work was in the monthly journal of the Northwest Suburban Bar Association on future tort law relating to driverless cars.

"I am here to protect my clients' rights," Adler said. "We work tirelessly to obtain just compensation for our clients, and to ensure they are protected into the future."

Adler maintains offices in Arlington Heights and Chicago. For more information, visit www.adlerltd.com.
