This picture was taken last September at Custer State Park, South Dakota. The scattered bison herd is rounded up each fall for tagging and an auction of some stock to keep the herd size manageable. These cowboys were rounding up a small group of bison, and bringing them to the larger herd. When the herd is all together there are about 1300 bison, and it's quite a sight. Milton Hoskins of Hampshire
Our recent cold spell reminded me of last January's very frigid weather. This photo of window frost at our house was taken back then using my macro lens. I also set the camera to tungsten white-balance, which turned the white daylight a cooler shade of blue, which better matched my feelings on that very cold day. Mike Weimer of St. Charles
