Streamwood teen gets jail, probation for doughnut shop robbery
A Streamwood teen who admitted to robbing a Hoffman Estates doughnut shop last February was ordered to serve six months in Cook County jail and pay $250 restitution in exchange for his guilty plea.
Julian Gonzalez, 18, was also sentenced Tuesday to two years probation and ordered to pay $709 in fines in exchange for pleading guilty to aggravated robbery, court records show. Gonzalez must serve his first year on intensive probation, which is typically accompanied by a curfew and may include other requirements such as community service and random drug testing.
During Gonzalez's bond hearing, prosecutors said he and another man entered the shop at 11:30 p.m. Feb. 4 and demanded money. The employee complied and the exchange was captured on videotape, prosecutors said.
