FBI: Rolling Meadows bank robbed by suspect in Schaumburg heist
Authorities are searching for a man who robbed a Rolling Meadows bank today and a bank in Schaumburg on Monday.
The man robbed the Fifth Third Bank at 1801 Algonquin Road in Rolling Meadows about noon Tuesday, according to the FBI.
The same man is suspected of robbing the Heartland Bank and Trust, 321 W. Golf Road in Schaumburg, at gunpoint about 1:35 p.m. Monday, the FBI said.
The man is described as an approximately 5-foot-10 to 6-foot-1 white male, between the ages of 55 and 65. He has gray hair and a white goatee with a patch of dark gray hair under the center of his lower lip, authorities said.
The man wore a red baseball cap with white and black letters, a gray long-sleeved button-up shirt, faded blue jeans and black shoes or boots.
The same Rolling Meadows bank was robbed a week ago. A man suspected in that robbery was charged Thursday in connection with another suburban holdup, but no charges have been announced in the Rolling Meadows case.
The FBI is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading directly to his arrest. Anyone with information should contact the FBI's Chicago Field Office at (312) 421-6700 or can submit tips at tips.fbi.gov.
