Bethel United Church of Christ Hosts Beer & Hymns Benefit for Feed My Starving Children

On Saturday evening, September 16, from 6:00 to 9:00 pm, Bethel United Church of Christ in Elmhurst will host a Beer & Hymns benefit for Feed My Starving Children. Beer & Hymns, born in the UK in 2006 and now spread world-wide, is a casual gathering of folks who like to sing the great hymns of the church, both old and new, with a beer, a glass of wine, or soft drink in hand-and, on this evening, to benefit a great cause. Whether the songs are familiar or new, whether you currently attend church or are totally disconnected from it, you are welcome to join us. No preaching, just a good old-fashioned sing-a-long with banjo, mandolin and guitar.

Beer & Hymns will take place in the Bethel Welcome Center. There is a suggested donation of $10 per person for those 10 and over. Children are welcome. A hot sandwich supper with side dishes and desserts will be served. Please RSVP by email to office@bethel-ucc.org. PLEASE NOTE: reservations are due no later than noon on Monday, September 11. All proceeds will benefit Feed My Starving Children, one of the service organizations supported by Bethel's Human Concerns budget. Feed My Starving Children is a Christian non-profit that provides nutritionally complete meals specifically formulated for malnourished children. Donations fund the meal ingredients, and volunteers hand-pack the meals which are then donated to FMSC food partners around the world for distribution. There are several packing sites in the western suburbs.

Bethel United Church of Christ is at 315 E. St. Charles Rd. in Elmhurst. Parking is located behind the church; please enter from St. Charles Rd. or from Huntington off Poplar. For more information please call the church office at 630-279-4040.
