JourneyCare Duck Race and Pool Party is this Saturday, August 12, at Langendorf Park

Make a splash and help support JourneyCare's All About Kids pediatric care program at the annual Duck Race and Pool Party from 4-7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 12, at Langendorf Park, 235 Lions Drive, Barrington.

Cheer on the (plastic) ducks as they take off down the waterslide and race to the finish. Win prizes by "adopting" (purchasing) ducks. Each duck is numbered and the winning ducks are announced after each race.

There is fun for the entire family with free open swimming, games and activities, food for purchase and a 50/50 drawing.

Smarty Pants, the Chicago area's premiere balloon artist who appears regularly on WGN-TV's Morning News, will be at the Duck Race in person creating balloon sculptures.

New this year to the Aqualusion Water Park at Langendorf Park is the Freddie Herriman Pederson Splash Pad, an ADA accessible water spray pad designed for kids with special mobility and sensory needs, with features at special heights to allow wheelchair access.

Three generations of the Beaubien Family are the Duck Race and Pool Party honorary chairs.

All proceeds benefit JourneyCare's All About Kids program, which provides specialized care and support for infants, children and families who are facing serious or life-limiting illnesses.
