Build Your Best Summer At Lake Villa District Library

Constructing Summer 2017 offers a level of reading and doing for every age---babies/toddlers, pre-school/kindergarten, school-age, teens and adults--- and more participation means more chances of winning. Reading logs, to track progress for prizes, will be available at Adult and Youth Reference Desks beginning June 5. Participants earn a mid-way prize, a completion prize and raffle tickets along the way to improve chances of winning their age-group's grand prize.

Historically, summer reading programs are meant to encourage and inspire reading during time off from school. LVDL takes that premise a step further and works hard to make visiting the library a fun, frequent stop for the entire family. Construction posters and displays are throughout the building and plenty of great programs and activities---for people of all ages---are planned.

The 2017 One Book, One Community selection is also construction-related. IF I Had A Hammer: Building Homes and Hope With Habitat for Humanity by David Rubel relays the favorite stories from two of Habitat for Humanity's most devoted volunteers, President Jimmy Carter and his wife, Rosalynn.

Constructing Summer, generously supported by the Friends of Lake Villa District Library, runs from Monday, June 5 through Sunday, August 13. Details available at www.lvdl.org

Lake Villa District Library enriches life in our community by connecting people with resources, services and each other.
