Wheaton Church Choir Welcomes Singers!

Wheaton's Gary United Methodist Church invites local singers to join its choir for a presentation of Karl Jenkins' monumental and world-renowned The Armed Man: A Mass for Peace on Sunday, May 21 at 9:00 and 11:00 a.m. in the Gary Church Sanctuary, 224 N. Main St, Wheaton. Rehearsals are Thursdays: April 20, 27, May 4, 11, and 18, 7:30-9:00 p.m. in the Choir Room at the church. Faithful attendance at these rehearsals (maximum of one absence) and at a dress rehearsal on May 20 is required for participation.

The Armed Man: A Mass for Peace portrays the tragedies of war, and redemption through God's offer of peace. Thrilling instrumentation, inspirational voices, sound effects of rain sticks, trumpets, and drums-all combine to make this a powerful and memorable experience for participating musicians. For additional information or to register, please contact Gary Church Music Director, Jennifer Whiting, through the church office at (630) 668-3100 or office@garychurch.org.

Music speaks to us beyond the limits of language, and helps us to envision our higher purposes. Please join us as we sing peace into our community and into our world.
